My name is Mathew Phillips and I am the owner of Draftsman Construction. What began with a creative mind from a young age has only evolved into a lifelong passion for design, building, & bringing ideas to life. From middle school on I always found something fascinating about homes, the different designs each one has and how they were built. That is why right out of high school I went and got an architecture degree to continue my interest in design and homes. Working directly under a lead architect focusing on residential construction as a “Draftsman”, quickly I realized that I love seeing a project from the first initial meeting all the way through the completion of the work. Overtime, I realized that I became much more interested in the construction and that lead me to a construction company where I was able to work on homes day in and day out. Quickly I realized working with homeowners that my plans/concepts really simplified the entire process no matter how big or small the project.

I realized that my homeowners have great ideas and plans, but fall short getting those ideas perfectly transferred into someone else’s head which can lead to confusion, stress, & unsatisfied homeowners at the end of the day. That is when I realized what I have to offer is exactly what has been missing for so many homeowners which is why I lead with it. Where it is a simple concrete patio, deck, porch, kitchen, bathroom, or anything else a simple plan/rendering can put a homeowners worries to rest. If you know the problem or the big objective in mind, I can present realistic options for you to visualize and how they can actually come to life. That typical process would begin with an initial site meeting to go over all your wants/needs and measurements of your existing home. From there I would create as many options as needed until you see exactly what you want in your home. From there, I can calculate materials and get an accurate estimate so you know what to expect financially. From there we usually can move forward with construction or find ways to save costs on your project to get as close to what you envisioned inside your budget!
